40 Charles Street/40 Clarges Mews
40 Charles Street/40 Clarges Mews comprises a Grade II* Listed Georgian Townhouse constructed in 1750-53 on the Mayfair Estate. The project entailed the full refurbishment and redevelopment of 40 Clarges Mews, the refurbishment of the Grade II* listed building included re-establishing some of the historic features of the building which had been damaged and mutilated by various Owners in the past. The redevelopment of 40 Clarges Mews involved the excavation of a new basement underneath the property and the rebuilding of the Mews House to facilitate current day requirements of the Client. At ground floor Blair Associates Architecture Ltd proposed to join the two properties creating a cloistered link with an open courtyard at its centre, the final refurbishment provided an 8 bedroom property with working office space at basement, ground and first floor, basement a wine cellar, gymnasium and screening room with garage and learning facilities at ground floor with guest bedrooms above the Mews House.
