Blair Associates Architecture Ltd's proposal seeks to extend the Hotel within the existing height and bulk of the building expanding the accommodation into external courtyards and providing additional accommodation at second floor podium behind the existing Portland stone false façade, the new accommodation within the extension will be as follows:

  • Entrance drop-off facilities on Duke Street
  • Newly laid out reception area including new toilets and accessible toilet facilities for ground floor and addition to accessible meeting and conference room facilities
  • Mezzanine floor incorporating new meeting rooms, toilet facilities including accessible toilets and 3 new bedrooms overlooking Mason’s Yard with accessible lift and staircase to the ground floor
  • First floor relocation of dining room facilities within previous courtyard areas with large bedrooms and suites occupying Jermyn Street and Duke Street façades, this level incorporates new toilets and accessible toilet facilities
  • Second floor level new large bedrooms set behind the existing false Portland stone façade incorporating accessible bedroom facilities with Japanese style garden
  • A new green roof over the podium portion of the Hotel to enhance the views onto the building from high level and to increase the buildings thermal performance

As part of the scheme it is also intended to clean up the façade along Mason’s Yard and repoint the brickwork, add a new render portion to the façade where it is proposed to provide a retail gallery space at ground floor.
